For
almost twenty years Vitaflo has been introducing and developing
innovative products for clinical nutrition. Originally established
in Scotland the organisation has steadily grown and developed
and now as Vitaflo International Limited the company is
rapidly establishing a global presence for its range of
innovative and highly specialised nutritional formulae.
In
1998 Vitaflo opened a new Factory and Distribution Centre
on the Brunswick Business Park in Liverpool. This has proved
to be the ideal location for a growing company. From this
central facility there is efficient distribution to all
parts of the British Isles and excellent connections are
available for rapid supply to overseas subsidiaries and
distribution partners. The company is now established in
Australia, North America, Europe and are currently in discussions
with potential trading partners in other parts of the world.
Recent
medical advances plus expanding biochemical knowledge and
understanding are resulting in an ever increasing number
of conditions being recognised that respond to dietary therapy
and management. As a relatively small company with a dedicated
and experienced team of individuals Vitaflo is responsive
to these changing requirements in clinical nutrition. Working
closely with clinicians, health care professionals, researchers
and patient groups Vitaflo has several exciting and innovative
projects underway in various countries. The results of this
ongoing research and co-operation will be the creation of
new foods for special medical purposes and innovative formulae,
designed to solve the identified biochemical problems and
nutritional deficiencies.
Vitaflo's
current products are focused on two specific clinical areas,
inherited metabolic disorders and disease related malnutrition.
To assist in the management and control of inherited metabolic
disorders the company has developed a new generation of
protein substitutes for disorders of amino acid metabolism.
These products are quick, convenient and easier to use than
the older preparations currently available. Taken as a concentrated
low volume drink they offer a more socially acceptable means
of dietary management. Within the Vitaflo range of products
for disease related malnutrition there is a choice of various
innovative products, designed to conveniently add energy
and protein to foods. Food enrichment provides a valuable
means of supplying the necessary additional protein and
energy when required.
