Vitajoule is a carbohydrate energy source indicated for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition, malabsorption states and other conditions requiring fortification with a carbohydrate supplement.

Vitaflo provide scoops to assist in preparation. 1 heaped scoop weighs approx. 10g and provides approx. 40kcal.

Versatile Vitajoule dissolves quickly into hot and cold liquids and mixes well with moist and dry products. As it has no smell or taste it presents no flavour problems when incorporated into a wide variety of both sweet and savoury foods and drinks.

Vitajoule - Milk

* Add 6 (15ml) scoops per 1 pint of milk

* Stir in until dissolved

* Provides 240 extra calories

Vitajoule - Porridge/Cereal

* Add 2 tblsp per portion of porridge/cereal

* Stir in until dissolved

* Provides 120 extra calories

Mashed Potato/Vegetables
Soup

* Add 1 tblsp per portion of mashed potato/vegetables

* Stir in until dissolved

* Provides 60 extra calories

* Stir in until dissolved

Yoghurt
Custard/Rice pudding
Vitajoule - Yoghurt

* Add 1 tblsp per portion of yoghurt

* Stir in and leave for 5 minutes before serving

* Provides 60 extra calories

Vitajoule - Custard/Rice pudding

* Mix 2 tblsp per portion of hot custard/ rice pudding

* Stir in until dissolved

* Provides 60 extra calories

       

Vitajoule Recipes 

Cream of Celery Soup

Vitajoule - Cream of Celery Soup

1 small onion, chopped

1 bunch celery, chopped

60g. Butter or margarine

60g. Flour

900ml Water

200ml Cream

Vegetable or chicken stock cube

Saute onion & celery in butter for 5 minutes. Stir in flour. Add stock, bring to the boil & simmer for 20-30 minutes or until celery is soft.

Cool slightly. Liquidise until smooth. Add cream. Serves 6-8.

*Add 4 (15ml) Scoops Vitajoule to a serving for an extra 106 kcal.

 

Raspberry & Almond Trifle

Vitajoule - Raspberry and Almond Trifle

600ml raspberry jelly

600ml custard

1 small jam filled Swiss roll, sliced

200g raspberries, fresh or tinned

300ml double cream

30g slivered almonds, toasted

Make up jelly as directed. Place raspberries & sponge slices in serving dish. Add jelly & chill until set. Make up custard as directed & cool. Pour custard over jelly. When set decorate with whipped cream and toasted almonds.

*Blend 6 (15ml) Scoops Vitajoule with custard powder for an extra 160 kcal.
